I'm lucky enough to be running my first marathon to support City Year Boston.
City Year works in high-need and high-risk communities to bridge the gap between the support that students need and what their schools are designed to provide. In Boston, the AmeriCorps members work each day with more than 10,000 students in grades three through nine, serving as tutors, mentors, and role models for the students who need it most. By focusing on attendance, behavior, and course performance, AmeriCorps members are uniquely positioned to help students reach their full potential.
If you would like to support me and make a donation (also motivating me to train), I really appreciate the support. Any amount is appreciated - and as an added incentive, I'll put the name and picture (if I can find one) of everyone who donates on the shirt I will wear while I run the marathon. So if you are looking to get a little extra exposure around Boston, but are tired of paying for traditional advertising, this could be for you. Thanks for the support!
