Counting Down the Days!

BENEFITING: The CJ Foundation for SIDS, Inc.
ORGANIZER: The CJ Foundation for SIDS, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
Family, Friends Near and Far,
On May 29, 1991, one day before my 29th birthday, my second child was born. What a wonderful early birthday present – an 8 pound, 14 ounce bundle of joy!! One of the nurses said, “look at him… looks like he’s got a pound in each cheek!”
On a particularly frigid day on November that year, Lucas took his afternoon nap and never woke up. SIDS – Sudden Infant Death Syndrome – a silent killer, one whose only symptom is death. Lucas was buried on November 29, 1991, six months to the day after he was born.
In the immediate weeks, months, and years after Lucas’ death, I worked tirelessly learning everything I possibly could about SIDS, probably as a means of dealing with my devastating grief. Becoming very active in the New Jersey SIDS parents group, and later the CJ Foundation for SIDS, also helped tremendously in easing some of the pain.
On November 6, 2016 (86 days from today and more than 400 training miles later!!), I will run 26.2 miles for Team CJ in the TCS New York City Marathon. Please consider making a contribution, no matter how small (or large!), to help me raise $5,000 in my effort to increase awareness of SIDS and support the leading non-profit dedicated to eliminating the tragedy of sudden infant deaths.
Thank you so much!! I am super psyched to be running in the most exciting marathon in the world for a cause that means the world to me!!

Join Team CJ and help raise funds for the CJ Foundation while raising awareness about SIDS, Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Other Sleep-Related Infant Death.
This is the 5th year that Team CJ will be participating in the TCS New York City Marathon. Funds raised will support research, education and services for families.
So this year don’t just run for yourself; run for research, run to find an answer, run so that no one has to know the pain of losing an infant.
Go Team CJ!
