BENEFITING: The CJ Foundation for SIDS, Inc.
ORGANIZER: The CJ Foundation for SIDS, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
As we all know, the older we get it becomes more and more difficult to stay in shape. The expanding waistline and gasping for air after walking up two flights of stairs should be inspiration enough but there's always an excuse to start tomorrow or the next day.
Being invited to run the New York City Marathon as part of the CJ Foundation for SIDS was the kick in the ass I needed to strap on the running shoes and raise funds and awareness for a great cause.
Training for a marathon isn't just running but being disciplined with food, drink, sleep, and lifestyle...which means all kinds of sacrifices. So I'll make the necessary sacrifices for the next four+ months and ask that you sacrifice a few dollars from your piggy bank in support of a great cause.
All funds go directly towards the CJ Foundation to support research, education, and services for families who have to deal with the tragedy of losing a child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Other Sleep-Related Infant Death.
So together we can run for research, run to find an answer, and run so that no one has to know the pain of losing an infant.
More about the CJ Foundation for SIDS:
The CJ Foundation is the leading national non-profit dedicated to research and education that supports baby wellness. Our priority is the health and survival of all babies through their first year of life. The Foundation provides a supportive environment for grieving families who have suffered an infant loss. Through research and education we strive to eliminate the treagedy of SIDS and SUID.
Through our widely recognized grant program we support promising research, provide educational materials, fund SIDS and Safe Sleep outreach initiatives and advocacy efforts. The CJ Foundation educates parents and caregivers about baby safety, health and wellness. We believe these strategies are the foundation to creating an environment that ensures that every baby born is healthy and continues to strive through their first year of life.
