Claire Randall Love
Organized by: Friends of Claire
Claire Randall—songbird, educator, adventurer, sister, daughter and friend who brightened our lives—passed away on December 8, 2016. She would have turned 27 on December 19. The news of her tragic death has left us heartbroken. We are raising money to support her family during this difficult time and to plan a memorial service to take place in the spring of 2017.
Claire lived in Brooklyn, NY with her partner of over six years, Gabe Gordon, and their cats Cecil and Lennie. As Education and Training Manager at Patron Technology, Claire was a public face of the organization, bringing focus and enthusiasm to her work and embodying the company’s creative spirit. She paired her belief in the power of music with abundant sweetness and patience.
Claire began performing at Mount Hope High School in Bristol, RI, where she was valedictorian. Her soulful voice was her extraordinary instrument, a gift she honed with dedicated study at Wesleyan University, class of 2012; it captivated us whether angelic or percussive, jazzy or ethereal. In New York, Claire led and collaborated on many musical projects; she was not interested in “making it,” only in making music.
An active feminist, she never lost sight of the marginalized; she fearlessly spoke her mind, staying true to her values. Fluent in Italian and silly voices, she had a wicked sense of humor. Her imagination was strange, unexpected and unforgettable. She defied convention from the clothes she made to the many colors of her hair. To “Claire” as a verb could mean to dance lightly over a melody, invent a word, win a costume contest or give the perfect birthday gift.
Claire took every chance to be with her mother Anita, brother Gabe, and sister Molly, whom she loved and supported across states. A trove of photographs, videos and songs capture her boundless spirit and infectious joy. She leaves behind an enormous community of friends and family from all walks of life, whom she inspired and enchanted.
We will continue to celebrate Claire's life; for more information visit www.ClaireRandallLove.com.
