Court dates have been set. Our landlords are going through the eviction, despite us not finding a home as of yet. Please keep us in your prayers. See More
We are in need of finding a new home as soon as possible. Our landlord is evicting us, because in his words, he does not want us to be here any longer. The most hardest thing about that, my landlord is also my own father. Why, you may ask. This is difficult to explain and we will do as best as we can.
Our parents own the property/land that we are currently living in. We have rented from them for 5 years now. Until recently, all monies have been paid. However, even with all payments, out parents have refused to make serious repairs in the last year. When approached about the subject with the suggestion that rent be withheld ONLY to make the repairs ourselves, to lessen the stress on our parents, my father then told us that he would rather we be gone. Three days later, we received an eviction notice, to leave the property. WHY? That is a question I ask myself everyday.Yet we, we are being evicted. NOT for monies, not for damages, but to simply leave. My father told us he did not want us living in this home any longer.
We have been under severe financial strain the last year, as my husband was laid off at the railraod off and on, part time work is all he can find to balance when the railroad calls for a job. I've had to quit work several times to stay home and care for the family needs, either physically and spiritually. Our home last year, was infested with mice that took 5 months before the landlord decided to take action , after we had already contacted pest control services on our own. However, we have recently been told the issue is due to the size of our family.
We are unable to find a home due to housing regulations that only allow 2 people per room. We have 7 children and now have three beds in each room, in a house of 3 bedrooms and 1 bath.
We have filled out Section8 housing applications, only to be told there is a 1 year waiting list.
We have contacted agents, LowIncome programs, Low income lenders and have been turned down due to lack of credit with a poor credit score, which is being worked on with a credit repair agency as we speak, yet will not be at a point in time to be available to start loans.
We have exhausted all of our choices and now face leaving our home with 7 children, with nowhere to go. we will be using all funding ONLY for rent payments, utility transfers and moving expenses. We are in need of furniture pieces such as mattresses, beds and dressers as these have fallen in disrepair due to financial hardships. Our faith has kept us strong but we are finding it harder to hang on. We are now looking for our community for support and help to allow us to find a home within weeks time.
I cannot express how much this is difficult for us to post in public, our needs. My husband and I strive to take care of the family on our own as best as we can. Yet we have found that it has been extremely difficult. Job lay offs have been often as the railroad goes and even buying a single pair of shoes is a crying struggle to do, knowing milk is needed as well.
Through the kindness of our community , blessings have come in so many ways, encouraging emails, friends have come over and shown us much love and support. A simple thank you cannot express how much gratitude my whole family has for everyone who is able and willing to help. Thank you so much for simply reading our story and taking the chance to pay it forward with kind hearts. Our prayers will soon be answered, we have no doubt.
Thank you again.
