Bullet and stab protective vests are needed for K-9s Jango and Ringo of the Clark County, Washington Sheriff’s Office.
Did you know that, in most cases, law enforcement agencies do not have budgets to provide vests for their four-legged K-9 officers? In 2014, 20 K9s lost their lives in the line of duty, 7 of which were due to gunfire or stabbing. The Tyger Family’s goal is to raise $2,300 which will cover the cost of 2 vests and the Crowdrise fees. A bullet and stab protective vest will make a world of difference for these well deserving K9s when it comes to their safety on the job and it is why we need your help to make a difference.
The mission of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office is to protect and safeguard the community by upholding and enforcing the law, enhancing public safety through sound correctional practices, and serving the public through effective civil process. Both Jango and Ringo are certified in Patrol and Narcotics work and, together with their handlers, have a major responsibility to serve and protect the community; however, when not on duty, each dog enjoys being at home with their family "just being a dog".
K9 Jango is a three-year-old German Shepherd assigned to Deputy Sean Boyle who has been a handler with the Sheriff’s Office since 2013. When not on duty, Jango is content on hanging out in his wood box with cedar chips. He gets so excited for work that he has taught himself how to open the patrol car door and let himself in.
K9 Ringo is a four-year-old German Shepherd assigned to Deputy Seth Brennan. In addition to his patrol duties, Ringo and Deputy Brennan assist the Southwest Washington Regional SWAT team. When not on duty, he loves to chase his ball and play in the snow. He is happiest when at work. Ringo will tolerate taking a bath, but does not enjoy it at all. We're sure that, together, we can make this happen!
