BENEFITING: Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech
Sponsor a Child was launched this year to address the $5,000 gap per child per year between the cost to provide services and the amount received from the State. Our year one goal of 30 sponsors has not only been achieved, it's been surpassed. We have commitments for 38 sponsorships - six weeks earlier than our deadline. We have been successful because once people learn of the work that we do at Clarke, helping deaf and hard of hearing children to listen and talk, they want to help us accomplish that goal. We have been offered a chance, as a staff, to take part in this program.
To help us get there, we have received a matching gift challenge from a donor who will give a one-dollar match to every dollar donated by staff (up to $2,500 between now and June 5 ). This $2,500 match, would provide half of the funds needed for a $5,000 sponsorship! Our goal is to have 100% staff participation.
We are kicking off our staff challenge now in celebration of Better Hearing and Speech Month. It is a new day for children who are deaf or hard of hearing because of our work to provide them with the listening and speaking skills they need to succeed in school and in life!
Please make your donation today and show your support for the work we do to give our students the best chances to soar!
