Build a classroom with BT!
Though Uganda has made a commitment to provide universal access to primary education, over 600,000 primary school age children remain out-of-school. Largely underfunded many Ugandan public schools lack even basic infrastructure.
To help solve this problem, Building Tomorrow partners with local communities to facilitate the construction of community-built, locally-sustained primary schools. Partner communities donate at least 3 acres of land for their school and contribute 15,000 hours of labor to build the school. By building the capacity of local School Management Committees, Building Tomorrow is able to ensure that the school is sustainable long-term. To date, Building Tomorrow has commenced or completed construction of 46 primary schools.
Building Tomorrow envisions a world where every child with a desire to learn has a safe, permanent and local place to do so. You can help make this vision a reality! Start a fundraising page to raise $3,500 to build a classroom or donate to support one of Building Tomorrow's existing campaigns.
