I am Adam Abdulkadir, 23 years old and I live in Kenya. I have a cousin who is suffering from cerebral palsy. I drop her at their school every morning before go to work. I have been doing this for the last two three years and it has become a part of me. My cousin's name is Shamim, she is always cheerful and she loves her school and also her friends.
Recently, we visited a certain school in Mombasa and we discovered disabled children studying under a horrifying environment. Shamim saw their pictures and she felt really sad that kids like her are studying under these conditions. We promised her that we would find help for them as much as possible, we tried to ask the government officials and organizations concerned but all in vain. My aim is to give these kids hope that they are capable of anything despite their disabilities. I want to let them see themselves as part of the society and that they are cared for and loved. Education is free and should be given to anyone and everyone. I see these kids suffering everyday and it pains me to see them like that.
I am not an American but when I browsed online for fundraising sites, I only saw that the real ones were from America and that I had to be American to be able to raise these funds. I don't have otherwise since the Government is still not responding to the calls of the parents to these kids. They need a class, some of them need wheelchairs and most of them require stationery because they really love to study. I would love for anyone out there who is willing to help these kids get over these hard times to please help me and my aunt raise funds for them. They are too young for all this amount of torture.
Thank You.
God Bless.
