An awesome day on the water. A little rain, but minimal winds and flat seas made for "easy" paddling. There were 51 of us out there on Saturday. See more
Back at it again. My last CCBC 2 years ago was not satisfying. Wind, rain, fog and cold temperatures forced us into boats. Getting off the water into a whale watch boat with a 14 foot paddle board was not an easy task. From here we motored more than 12 miles across the bay, dropped back in out of the wind and finished up the day. For a family dealing with a child with cancer, there are no emergency boats to pick them out of the swells and drop them somewhere calmer and more manageable. They have to endure. Thankfully, there are places like Christopher's Haven. Here, families can stay together during treatments, providing the families as much normalcy and "calm weather" as they can. It is my honor to paddle across Cape Cod Bay for them. My ordeal will only last the better part of 12 hours. It is the least I can do for someone whose battle will last far longer. Please help me reach my goal. Whatever amount you give will help someone in some way.
