SYRV MAKE GOOD HAPPEN wrote -
My name is Gwynn Vaiciulis and I am taking a leadership role in this service project with two of my closest friends from Jesuit High School in Portland, Oregon. We are partnering with SYRV and Founder Monique Evans to change lives on our trip to Nicaragua in July. Although rich in beaches, volcanoes and jungles, Nicaragua is still one of the globes poorest countries. Inadequate water services and environmental destruction contribute to poor living conditions, disease and a high mortality rate. We are specifically going to work with children and families in very poor cities. We will bring them clean water, medicine, and other supplies. We hope to build strong relationships with these people and touch their lives deeply. Here is how you can help:
o DONATE - we have an ambitious goal of raising $5000.
o SHARE – share the link to this page on all your social media channels with family and friends.
WHO WILL YOU BE HELPING?
• 100% direct funding to Nicaraguan families in rural Leon and Popoyo
• Children and women most affected by disease and the lack of basic sanitation, limiting their ability work or attend school
WHAT WILL BE THE IMPACT?
• 2-3 years of clean water access for each family, including contamination education and materials
• For every $1 invested in improved water supply and sanitation there is $4+ return to the local economy
