Clean Water and Schools for Laos
Organized by: Meuy Saephan
Meuy Saephan grew up in a tiny village in Laos called Bokeo, and escaped during the communist invasion in 1982. She then lived in a refugee camp in Thailand for 5-6 years. During those early years of her life, she experienced great poverty, and on her recent visit to that small village, she saw that conditions haven't changed much. There are still not enough schools for the village children, and clean water is hard to find during the dry times of the year. Sometimes villagers are forced to drink water from the highly polluted Mekong River, resulting in serious illness. She plans to go back to Laos in January 2017, and plans to build a well and enlarge the tiny school. We are seeking donations to help improve the health, quality of life, and education for the children of Bokeo and surrounding villages in Laos.
