BENEFITING: Saha Global
Help people in Ghana get access to CLEAN WATER and build a SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS with treating/selling clean water.
This is the part 2 of my fundraising project. Thanks to many donors, I raised $185 prior to the trip to Ghana. Now that I came back, I hope you can help me finish the remaining money ($2815) for the monitoring of Vogyili for the next 3 years.
I went to Tamale, Ghana this summer and worked on a project with Community Water Solutions, a non-profit organization that needs YOUR HELP to further reach out. Victoria, Jacob, Eda, and I helped train two women-Mary and Fushiena-to build and keep operate the water selling business. Our three weeks of work was just awesome and rewarding in every possible way. We organized the meeting with the chief and the elders, built the polytank stand with bricks and cement, carried the huge polytank and blue drums on Shak's "fully functional" jeep, educated Mary and Fushiena on how to purify water using alum and aquatab, distributed 25 Safe Storage Container and explained the importance of drinking clean water, successfully opened our water treatment center on July 1st (yay!), painted the school water saying 'Don't drink dugout water. Drink clean water,' and educated the kids on waterborne disease by playing tags.
Help the kids in Vogyili who bleeded on their first day of brushing teeth. Help them not suffer from diarrhea, cholera, or Hep A anymore.
