Every day approximately 100 African elephants are being killed for their ivory; if the slaughter continues at this rate they will be close to extinction within a decade- every meter you climb will help them!
On arrival in Nairobi, Kenya, you will be met by a representative from Space for Giants and driven north for 2 days acclimatization at Ol Pejeta Wildlife Camp, Laikipia. Here you will be able to enjoy the game, either by vehicle or from a mountain bike, have the opportunity to go canyoning in the beautiful Ngare Ndere forest waterfalls, as well as other activities whilst your body gets used to being at approx 2,000 meters above sea level.
Setting out from Ol Pejeta on Day 3 you will slowly ascend Mt. Kenya, following our private route, over a period of 3 days, peaking at Pt. Lenana on Day 6. This 2,335 meter ascent over 45 km passes lush forest, mountain grasslands and hidden caves before a final, unforgettable early morning start to catch the sunrise over the African equator.
If you are up for an added thrill, we offer the opportunity to mountain bike down- but for those content with achieving the summit you can stick to two feet for the descent you will be carefully looked after at every point along the way by our team of experts at Rift Valley Adventures.
