Most of you have probably had a moment in your life that inspired you to take action or perhaps even changed your life. What was my most recent life-changing experience you ask? I lost a dear friend in February and it was his commitment to living life to the fullest that woke me up to my purpose.
We shared a passion for helping others and desire to give back to our communities and organizations doing good in this world. My friend Jason would be proud to know I am participating in No Barriers' "What's your Everest" climbing event this August, in fact he'd be right by my side as he loved hiking, the Colorado mountains, and the members of our Armed Forces.
No Barriers' mission is to unleash the potential of the human spirit. Through transformative experiences, tools and inspiration, they help people embark on a quest to contribute their absolute best to the world. In the process, they foster a community of curious, brave and collaborative explorers who are determined to live the No Barriers Life. Most of you know I'm an avid hiker and this August, I'll be hiking four "14ers" in one day – Lincoln, Cameron, Democrat and Bross as part of my purpose to live a No Barriers Life.
My goal is to raise $2,000 by August 1st to support No Barriers programs that include:
Soldiers to Summits [link: http://www.nobarrierswarriors.org/]: empowering veterans to overcome barriers and reclaim their lives
Global Explorers [link: http://nobarriersyouth.org/]: dedicated to creating moments that challenge students’ perspectives of the world and inspire them to make it a better place
No Barriers Summit [link: http://www.nobarrierssummit.org/]: a biennial four-day gathering of modern-day assistive technology pioneers in a stunning outdoor setting
Now here’s where you come in. With your contribution people of all ages will discover that what's within them is stronger than what's in their way. Life-changing, right? So I ask, what's your Everest? Are you climbing it?
Join me in my tribute to a friend who's life serves as an inspiration to me and all of those he knew. Thanks for your kind donation in advance. You’re helping to make a true difference in so many lives and Monica, Griffin and I are grateful for your support.
