I am creating this page for a dear friend who is too proud to ask for help. My friend is one of the most intelligent, loving and giving people I have had the pleasure of knowing. She has been battling her autoimmune disease for nearly 20 years, keeping it under control most of the time. About 10 months ago, her condition flared up and she couldn't hold a job. To cut down on her expenses, she moved back home, hoping to save on rent and food, while getting treatment for her condition. Her parents, whom she had supported financially for over 10 years while she was able to work, met her coming home with disapproval and lack of emotional support. In fact, her mother made sure she knew she was a burden on them, not an asset. My friend is running low on money and she worries much about her accruing student loans that she can't pay now. However, she refuses to ask anyone for help. She can no longer afford to seek medical treatments and medications for her condition and it scares me to see what the condition has done to her body. I know she has about a few hundred dollars left in her account, which she will stretch for as long as she can, and is living on about 20 dollars a week for food. I pray that she doesn't have to go to bed hungry. Yet she won't ask anyone for help. That is why I am creating this Crowdrise page to keep her anonymous to save her laughable pride. I hope to raise about 20, 000 dollars, so that she can get the treatments she needs, get out of her toxic environment, recover, and get back on her feet. I understand that people have better things to do with their money, but a helping hand can do so much for someone in need. Let's forward the loving kindness within all of us. I wish you well.
