It's hard to believe, but our little baby Rex is turning 1 on June 22nd! What a magical year it's been. We are so grateful to have him in our lives and have really enjoyed sharing him with all of you!
Rex is fortunate to have all of the essentials to help him thrive this year, but did you know that 1 in 3 families in America struggle to afford diapers for their children? Since diapers cannot be purchased with food stamps or through any government assistance programs, many babies are forced to sit in dirty diapers for hours on end, making them more vulnerable to diaper rash, infections, and abuse. Think about it... as a result of being dirty all day, a baby is much more likely to develop painful rashes and other infections and they are more likely to cry - thus increasing the chance for abuse from already stressed caretakers. Because these babies are focused on the uncomfortable pain of their situation, their ability to focus on and learn about the world around them is instantly inhibited. The fact that this is the reality for so many families is simply unacceptable.
In honor of Rex's birthday this year, we invite you to be a part of the solution and to make a donation of diapers or dollars to benefit the WestSide Baby Stuff the Bus campaign! WestSide Baby works with 90+ social service organizations to keep 20,000+ local kids in clean diapers each year. Your donation may seem like a small gesture, but it will help relieve a huge burden for families overcoming unemployment, homelessness, and domestic violence. Providing essential items such as diapers allows parents to focus on creating a nurturing environment for their children and working toward becoming self-sufficient.
If you would like to make a diaper donation, please make arrangements with us for pick-up or delivery (contact Virginia: email@example.com or Brian: firstname.lastname@example.org). The most needed sizes newborn and toddler Pull-Ups. If you would like to make a financial contribution to be used to purchase diapers, please do so here!
Thank you so much for considering a donation - Rex sends his thanks too!
