Fundraise $5,000 to join our team and travel the world to educate communities in low and middle-income countries on how to try and stop the Pneumonia epidemic.
This is a call to action.
Pneumonia is the single largest killer of children under the age of five in the world. Although we may not be in a position to interact with these children on a day-to-day basis, their need for our help remains. If we are to break cycles of poverty, illness, and death then we need to protect those who are not only the most vulnerable but also the most promising. The potential that children hold is more than it has ever been.
What can be done?
- Education is key. In low and middle-income territories the prevalence of Pneumonia can be directly linked to a lack of proper education.
- A curriculum will be made up of ways to reduce indoor air pollution, live more carefully and remain more vigilant about and around sources of outdoor pollution.
- An early medical detection system will be given to parents and community leaders so that they may gauge the health and safety of their children and the current environment.
- Each curriculum will be tailor made* for the specific community in need. Along with easy-to-use medical instruments that have been proven by the WHO, the U.N., and UNICEF, these small community based lessons will aim at empowering families and trying to guarentee a better life for children.
*By carefully reviewing and changing each curriculum before its implementation, the agenda and teaching process will be specifically unique to the environment and community throughout which it is being taught. There is no excuse to try and push a general model on different communities simply to make the job easier. Effort must be relentless-passion must be eternal.
