BENEFITING: GREEN BERET FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Oct 19, 2013
My second event of 2013 is the GORUCK Light in Pittsburgh PA on 19 Oct 2013. The GORUCK Light is an event that lasts around 6 hours, covering 10+ miles while carrying an approximately 40 pound ruck. My last GR Cadre shared a story to me about a SF Green Beret friend who suffered traumatic wounds on the battlefield. His friend "James" said that the Green Beret Foundation's support was very beneficial to him. So, the Second charity I'll be raising money for is the Green Beret Foundation, in HONOR OF James! Check out their web page for more info on the great work they are doing! http://greenberetfoundation.org/
"The goal of Ruck4SpecOps is to participate in different adventure races, marathons and challenges while wearing a ruck (a weighted military style backpack) to raise money for charities that support wounded or killed Special Operation Warriors, i.e. Navy SEALs, Green Berets, Army Rangers, Air Force PJs. The money raised for each event will go to a specific, specified charity. At no times will Ruck4SpecOps personally handle any money."
