From Battle to Paddle Vol 2
February 22, 2017
BENEFITING: TASK FORCE DAGGER FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Jun 27, 2017
In support of Task Force Dagger Foundation and National PTSD Awareness Day on June 27, 2017, I plan to stand up paddle 22 miles. My goal is to raise awareness of Veteran Suicides and funding for Task Force Dagger Foundation and their mission! I intend to do this solo, but I invite anyone who is up for it to join me!
Right now the plan is to put in at East Coast Paddle Boards shop, paddle to Blue Petes (about 6.5 miles), paddle to Baja, in Sandbridge (about 4.5 miles), portage the board over land for about 900 meters, then paddle to Rudee Inlet, to Owl's creek and then stop at Big Sams (about 11 miles) for a total of 22 miles. You can join me for the whole 22 miles, or any part of the journey. It won't be a race, just a cruise to remember all the Veterans who have taken their own lives and hope for a cure in the near future.
Task Force Dagger Foundations Mission: Provides assistance to wounded, ill, or injured US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) members and their families. Responding to urgent needs, conduct Recreational Therapy Events, and provide next-generation health solutions for issues facing our service members. They are a rally point to combat Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), and environmental exposures. Their cohesive programs enable families to seize the moment and live life.
