BENEFITING: International Rescue Committee - Dallas, TX
On behalf of the graduating class of ’08 from Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, I would like to present this opportunity to honor and celebrate the graduation of 10 high school seniors who entered the U.S. as refugees.
On May 30th, the International Rescue Committee in Dallas will host a dinner to recognize these graduating seniors and their families. This night will be extremely significant to these families and students. It will celebrate the overcoming of so many obstacles put before them and act as a symbol of hope for those just beginning a similar path. It will highlight the accomplishments of students and allow them to share their future plans. As was the case in our graduation ceremony, it will also be a "robing” ceremony. Each senior will honor an individual who has had a significant influence on his or her life by having that individual place his or her graduation robe on them. The ceremony will be an incredible opportunity to congratulate these students and their families as they head off to college.
Please consider helping us commend these incredibly deserving students. Donations will go towards decorations, food, and college readiness bundles. Bundles could include anything from laundry bags and linens to laptops and gift-cards. Any donations that go beyond the initial goal will be used towards future IRC youth programming.
The International Rescue Committee is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It is eligible to receive contributions deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes.
This campaign is led by alumni from the Class of 2008. It is not sponsored, managed, or initiated by Covenant Christian Academy.
