EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
Update 4/15/13: It's a bit of an understatement to say that it was not a great day. I never felt right, and my time shows it. I also did significant damage to a couple of toes (yuck!). The good news is that because I was slow, I was not at the finish line when the bombs exploded. That was right about 4 hours from when I started--my goal. My wife and daughters were no more than 50 feet from the explosion and walking toward it. I am ecstatic that they are fine. We feel extremely lucky. Those who were not as lucky are in our thoughts. Thanks again for your support.
Update 3/29/13: 20 miles last Sunday and 12 miles today. Two weeks to go!
Update 2/16/13: An easy 15 miles today. Feeling good and getting excited for the big day.
Update, 2/2/13: Ran a half marathon today along the Boston course--Newton to Wellesley College and back. Finished in 1:56:11. That's a bit slower than I'd like, but I can't complain. I did manage to run 13.1 miles and feel pretty good afterwards.
Believe it of not, I'll be running the Boston Marathon in April. Yes, all 26.2 miles. I'm relatively new to running, but thanks to a couple of years of serious cycling, a good training plan, and the support and guidance of Don and the team, I know I'll be able to do this.
Running is the hard part. The easy part is deciding to give money to a good cause. In this case it's nutrition and health programs at Tufts University. I get more fit and we all help people around the world become healthier. A true win-win. Thanks for your support.
