EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
Dear Family and Friends-- Thank you for making it this far! I am so excited to be running the Boston Marathon this year as part of the Tufts Marathon Team. After 3 broken limbs from alpine skiing, it was time to take up a new winter sport...running! I've been truly enjoying the training so far.
The Tufts Marathon Team raises funds to support nutrition, medical, and fitness programs at Tufts, including research on childhood obesity. I believe it is appropriate that marathon running support these causes, as the marathon represents an attention to fitness and nutrition.
Anything you give, no matter how small, will make a difference and help me reach my goal of raising $1,750 to support Tufts' work in nutrition, fitness, and medicine. Thank you so much for your support. I will be thinking of you on April 15!
PS- For more information on the Tufts Marathon Team, please see below!
Each year, 100 runners make the journey from Hopkinton to Boston to support nutrition, medical, and fitness programs at Tufts University, including research on childhood obesity at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
The Tufts Marathon Team (TMT) is the largest known collegiate marathon program in the United States, attracting runners from around the country.
During the 2012 marathon season, the team raised $565,290. Since its inception in 2003, the TMT has raised more than $3,572,629.
Please support our runners for the 2013 marathon by making a gift online. If you prefer, you can mail in the pledge form to pay by check or credit card offline.
