EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
The marathon is just a few short weeks away and I just finished my longest training run. Looking forward to this adventure and I truly appreciate your support!**
On April 15th, my 27th birthday, I'll be running the Boston Marathon with the largest collegiate running team in the nation. I'll be running with friends from school and with my uncle (a few miles ahead) AND, most importantly, supporting a great cause!
Running this marathon on behalf of the Tufts running team is an honor. Each year, 100 Tufts runners make the journey from Hopkinton to Boston to support nutrition, medical, and fitness programs at Tufts University, including research on childhood obesity at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
This is an issue that is plaguing our country and the great minds at Tufts are looking for solutions. By giving, not only are you supporting me during my training and on marathon day, but you will also be supporting the current and future work of the Friedman School as it works to improve the nutrition of the world. I have a childhood friend who is currently enrolled in their nutrition program looking to make our relationship with food in this country positive, healthy, and sustainable.
Since its inception in 2003, the Tufts Marathon Team has raised more than $3,572,629.
Please support us and this cause by donating online or if you prefer, you can mail in the pledge form to pay by check or credit card offline.
Thanks and happy running!
