BENEFITING: NATIONAL UREA CYCLE DISORDERS FOUNDATION
Running is something that I never took joy in growing up. Ever since I got out of college it has become a place of relaxation, a place of enjoyment, and a place of self-reflection. I have grown so much through my experience of running and want to continue to grow in this journey to my first ever completion of a marathon. In doing so I have been blessed to have a guardian angel that has been looking over me every step of the way. Marlaina Susi was my best friend, a beautiful girl, an energetic spirit, and truly an amazing person to be around. At the age of 8 years she lost her battle to Urea Cycle Disorder, but has helped so many young children since that day. She truthfully is an inspiration to me and how I get my strength to overcome so many obstacles. I am doing this run not only for her but for all the children whom she is going to continue to help with this unique condition. As Marlaina would say, September 24, 2016 is going to be "the best day ever!"
