BENEFITING: HOPE FOR THE WARRIORS
ORGANIZER: HOPE FOR THE WARRIORS
Hi Friends and Family,
What is a veteran? A 'veteran' - whether active duty, discharged, retired or a reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to, and including their life." That is honor and a true hero.
On November 6th, 2016 I will be running in my 1st marathon in New York City. While accomplishing a goal on my bucket list, I will also be running on “Team Hope For The Warriors®” and will be raising awareness and money for their amazing organization.
Hope For The Warriors® is a national nonprofit organization whose primary mission is to assist service members of every service branch, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds while serving on the front lines of our nation. Hope For The Warriors® is dedicated to restoring a sense of self, restoring the family unit, and restoring hope for our service members and our military families.
Every charity that contributes to the New York City Marathon addresses a specific need we have as a nation and an individual. My decision to run for Hope For The Warriors® was two-fold.
1) While running my 1st Half Marathon in Washington DC in March there was a stretch of the race where American flags and pictures lined the course of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It acted as a reminder that Freedom isn’t free – it was bought and paid for by men and women in uniform. There was a group of runners that ran to honor and preserve the legacy of generations of fallen service members which instantly resonated inside of me.
2) My Grandpa (A World War II Veteran and the glue that holds our family together). My Boyfriend (my very own Captain America). My Uncle Wally. My Uncle Ron. My Uncle Bill Post. My Uncle Bill Wingren. My Brother-in-Law's Dad and Grandpa. Cousin Chris. Countess number of Friends. All who have a special place in my heart and who have made a great impact in my life. They have and/or are currently making sacrifices to protect our nation's freedom and have inspired me to raise money for a charity that gives back to our country's heroes.

I would be grateful if you joined me in supporting our brave servicemen and women by helping me raise money to run for such a tremendous cause. Any donation is beyond greatly appreciated and I really can not thank you enough. TOGETHER, we can ensure that no sacrifice is forgotten.
P.S. – I look forward to rocking my first Marathon as I dedicate this race to the bravest of the brave. #America #H4W
