A silver lining?
September 29, 2016
Our friends, The Dandridge Family, are facing homelessness due to the loss of one of the parent's jobs. "D" lost her job earlier this year and has been searching nonstop for another, but the unstable economy in their area has made finding a new job with a decent income nearly impossible. "T" works very hard to provide for his family, but his income just isn't enough to make all of their ends meet. They were able to keep their heads above water for a few months, but their time has run out and they have now been evicted from their home. They have until Monday August 29, 2016 to vacate their current rental home. They just need a hand up to help keep their family, which includes three teenage daughters, from winding up on the streets. The family shelter in their area is full and they have no friends or family living close by that they could stay with. Right now their only option is to put their belongings into storage and stay in a motel, but even this is not a long-term solution as this will eat away at the money they have been able to put aside for a new (and stable) place to live. The money that you donate will be used to help them with the costs associated with moving into a new home. Anything that goes above the minimum requested amount will be kept in savings and used to help keep them afloat while "D"continues to look for a new job. Please don't let the amount needed or the urgency of their situation stop you from contributing because every donation - no matter how small - brings them one step closer to keeping their family intact and off of the streets. Thank you!
*There is no family photo associated with this campaign as we are trying to respect the childrens'privacy by not sharing their faces or names publicly. Being a teenager can be hard and having people find out, especially your peers, about your family being homeless makes that even harder. Thank you for understanding.*
