NEW KEYOSTRONG PAGE
June 26, 2016
This page has been set up for Keyano (Keyo), who was in a terrible accident on Friday, March 11th. The impact of the accident has been devastating for everyone and will affect his family. We wanted to create this page to raise funds that will be used for Keyo, as it is unsure how much of a financial impact this will have on the family after the insurance coverage is maxed out. The funds will also be used to assist his family with the necessary things needed.
The road to recovery is going to be a long one, but with the support of all his family and friends, we know he will overcome this obstacle and be back to doing what he does best- bringing smiles and joy to everyone he comes in contact with. Anything that you are able to donate is greatly appreciated. Even if you are unable to donate, we ask that you please pray for his healing and recovery and continue to pray for him during this crucial time. We know Keyo is strong and it is those prayers that are helping him grow stronger every day. We greatly apprecitate the amount of love and support the family has gotten. Thank you so much. Blessings always.
UPDATE: Today 3/25/2016 marks 2 weeks from Keyo’s accident. Keyo has come a long way since then although the road is a much longer one. In the beginning, the news on Keyo was very gray. We were told that we should probably expect Keyo to not recover from his head trauma. The test results would suggest that he would most likely be paralyzed on his right side. The list was getting longer. But the other day during his C spine change, Keyo grew aggravated and Linette usually is able to stabilize his heart rate. For some reason, it wasn’t working. For the next 10-15 minutes, Keyo’s vitals kept increasing. Then Rex noticed that a piece of the C spine has been sitting on a pressure point where they check for stimulation. This aggravated Keyo. Although, it seems like that would just upset you, the realization is that this proves that Keyo is feeling some sensation on the right side where the Dr’s initially explained that the likelihood would be that Keyo would not feel anything. This is another small but great victory.
So as of today, here is a recap of some of Keyo’s other minor victories. First one was when he first squeezed his mom Lin’s hand. He continues to squeeze everybody’s hand since then. The drains were removed and he started to breath on his own. The Dr’s found the source of his pneumonia and he’s is on medication to rid him of it. Last night, THANK YOU GOD and our Lord JESUS, Keyo finally was able to get the MRI that we all were praying for. We haven’t received any results back from that test as yet. On the 22nd, they day after Aniya was born, Keyo started breathing on his own. But to keep the stress down, the next two days he was on assisted breathing with his ventilator along with his own breathing. Now as of 03/25/2016 during the day, Keyo is mostly off of the ventilator. His self-breathing is getting better daily. He is completely off sedation. Keyo intermittently will open his eyes. It is currently unknown if those are responsive results or reflexes. It is still too early to tell.
To all of you that has prayed for Keyo. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Words cannot explain the appreciation and gratitude we all feel for your continued support. We will continue to periodically update you on Keyano
