#CLTmyHOM Christmas Hat Project
Organized by: Addison Standley
September 20, 2016
EVENT DATE Sep 30, 2016
Last Year, with the help of some very generous people we raised enough money to donate 100 new hats/beanies to the Urban Ministry Center for their Christmas Bags for the homeless. These were designed by the creative folks at 704Shop and represented a new way of looking at these donations.
After collecting hand-me-downs the previous year we wanted to give these guys a hat they could be proud of, a hat that everyone would want to have. Imagine if people on the street were passing each other with the same hat on, not knowing if the other person was sleeping inside or outside that night. With a lot of help, together we made that happen!
704shop continued to pay it forward with a "buy one, give one" sale that brought additional hats to the effort. This year they're all in on raising the bar and helping us try to reach our goal of 300 hats.
This whole idea started in the fall of2014 when I was 9 and wanted to involve my family and friends in helping homeless people. I remember a time when a homeless person rang our door bell and we gave him coffee and a warm blanket. I thought that my life was not so bad compared to the people who live on the street cold and hungry. I have done so much with your help. Lets keep it going so we can make a difference in this world.
We have a deadline of one week to raise the money and place the order in time to receive for the Christmas Season. Won't you please consider helping us keep these guys warm this winter.
