We've raised the funds to earn the matching grant from the Sharon Gantz Bloome Fund! Let's keep going! Thanks for your support!  See more

THE STORY:

We're a new non profit dedicated to encouraging kids to develop the habit of giving regularly to help other kids. We've only been live for 12 weeks, but already we've received donations from people in over 45 states across the US, totalling more than $12,000.  There is something like $10 billion in change out of circulation - and because we are a national partner with the Coinstar® Coins that Count® program, it's easy to donate change to CMC at one of approximately 17,000 Coinstar kiosks.

In other words, not only is there a need, there is also a desire to give. Every donated penny, nickel, dime and quarter makes a difference.

These donations are supporting the three partners with whom we’re working initially: Chikumbuso, First Book and International Justice Mission. These organizations are dedicated to helping improve the lives of children in this country and around the world. We are proud that they are working with us to encourage kids to help other kids. Over time we will expand the list of partners, and continually rotate new ones into the mix.

That’s all good news.  But now we need your help. We are asking for your support for our general operating fund. At this early stage, the small percentage that we keep out of what is donated will not support our expenses in 2012 (We don’t have any paid employees, but we do have to legally register CMC in most of the 50 states, which can run into the thousands of dollars). And, we hope to continue to expand the functionality of the CMC website (cmcfund.org).

If we can cover our expenses through General Fund donations, your contributions would even make it possible for 100% of the money donated through Coinstar kiosks to go directly to the partners we support.

Please consider making a donation to support our efforts to get kids into the habit of giving, and, in turn, to support our non-profit partners who are doing fabulous work in support of children in the US and around the world.

Kids everywhere helping kids everywhere. That's our vision, and we hope you will contribute to help us realize our dreams.

Good Luck Richie!! This will look like a second donation but it's only one - checked my amex points card last time and what do you know, it wouldn't take it. Great new avenue for Amex to explore!! 6 years ago
