Mothers Day Puppy Update
June 24, 2016

As you can see these kids are growing.  They are eating 3lbs of food daily going through a 50lb bag of dog food every two weeks. They will not  See more

THE STORY:

Our county of 23,000 struggles daily to deal with the staggering number of abused and neglected animals. Houston Co Texas does not have a shelter to house these animals fortunately a local Vet opened his doors and offered the city of Crockett five pens in his clinic to assist with this over whelming demand.

Coalition for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty has partnered up with a rescue in the DFW area and in NY to relocate as many animals as possible from the clinic, preventing unnecessary euthanasia.  CPAC, being the only animal rescue in the immediate area, must also attempt to keep up with the constant pleas for assistance from local citizens in Houston Co and surrounding counties.  The demand for animal assistance and rehabilitation takes hundreds of dollars a month.  Each animal we remove from the clinic/shelter is budgeted at $150.00.  This covers spay or neuter, vaccinations, microchip, heart worm test and medication, fecal and flea preventative.  As you may suspect most of the dogs pulled form this setting are unhealthy and the cost rises during the rehabilitation process.  Currently we have rescued and or relocated over 100 animals since the first of the year with a 100% adoption rate. We need your kind donations and support to keep the cages empty and maintain our efforts to save as many animals in our area as possible.  Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
