BENEFITING: COASTAL CHILDRENS ADVOCACY CENTER INC
EVENT DATE: Aug 03, 2015
Coastal Children's Advocacy Center (CCAC) is a non-profit agency that works with any child between the ages of 2 - 17 years who has been the victim of sexual/severe physical abuse or witnessed violence. The abuse must be reported to the appropriate authorities before CCAC can set up interviews, counsel or provide additional services.
CCAC only exists through the support from the City of Savannah, United Way of the Coastal Empire, the State of Georgia, Victims of Crime Act, Georgia's criminal justice coordinating council, National Children's Alliance, Combined Federal Campaign & private donations...like yours! CCAC work closely with Police, DFCS, prosecutors, medical professionals, counselors & child advocates for the benefit of victimized children, ensuring that they, & their non-offending family members receive needed services.
Any amount donated is appreciated & will help purchase therapeutic supplies: art supplies, pillows (so a child can create a custom dream pillow to counteract nightmares), flashlights (that are included in a safe/coping box), soft cuddle blankets to include with dream pillow, blow pens to help with the release of stuffed feelings, tiny bubbles, clay, mini journals (all included in coping boxes), more coping boxes, make your own crowns (strength & self-esteem building), paints, markers, drawing paper, painting paper, stress balls and many more...
It will also help buy bus tickets and gas cards which we give to our families to help with transportation in getting their children to counseling appointments. No one should have to experience abuse, especially a child, so lets do it for the kids of Coastal Georgia & give a little so together we can reach our goal of $5k!
