Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County is honored to be an official Charity Partner of the OC Marathon 2012!
We've set a goal of $20,000 to help pay down our veterinary/medical costs. All too often, the shelters in Southern California label a dog to be rescue only due to illness. And even more often, the dogs are released with a waiver of spay or neuter. This means that a rescue takes on a dog that may likely be ill, is not altered and may not have its vaccines. As an all volunteer group that depends solely on donations, we now work even harder to raise the dollars to help these homeless pets! Coastal GS Rescue has placed hundreds of dogs since its inception in late 2004. Please help us continue our mission.
I'm targeting $4,000 for my organization, Coastal German Shepherd Rescue - Orange County chapter www.coastalgsr.org. I am motivated to help Ariel, a one year old sweetie who has urinary tract infections that cause her to be incontinent. Here's a link to her http://coastalgsr.org/ariel1.htm - with this simple, yet expensive surgery ($2,000), her interior will be restored to normal and she can live a wonderfully long life. She loves dogs, kids, CATS and even with her condition, she is housebroken.
Joy, http://coastalgsr.org/joy5.htm - has ear infections that she has likely had for years; gone untreated for so long, the best solution is to remove the cartilage in her ears. While this may mildly affect her hearing, she will be pain free for the first time in a long time. This surgery is also expensive - $2,000.
We rescued both of these girls, medical conditions unknown, like so many of the dogs that cross through our doors. Your donation means that we are one step closer to helping these deserving dogs receive the care they so desperately need in order to be placed into their forever homes!
