Many members of the Coder family have been nominated to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge, and we're waiting to dump the buckets on August 22 - in honor of what would have been Charlene Weiser Coder's 78th birthday.
Grandma Char was diagnosed with ALS in 1993, lived with the disease for 7 years, and ended her struggle in 2000. She chose to go on life support in a time when there was no technology to allow her to communicate with us once she lost use of her body and voice.
We're so glad to see that so many people are learning about ALS, and most importantly that people are donating to ALS research!
