Our lil Cody decided to make his debut13 weeks and 6 days prior to his due date on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. He weighed in at a mere 2lbs 2oz and 13 in long. He dropped to 1lb 13.25oz.

He he was doing good, moving along at a slow, but steady pace and was on track to come home by his due date of Jan 12th until Dec 2nd when he took a drastic turn for the worse. Cody has what is called NEC and had to undergo emergency surgery. The end result was the removal of his entire colon and a third of his small intestine along with placement of an ileostomy.

Cody now faces many more months, in the NICU to recover before he can come home. He will require the use of his ostomy for 9 months-2 years to allow his body to heal, surgeons to evaluate his intestinal progress, possible additional surgeries should anymore of his tissue die, and once he is able a surgery to reverse the ileostomy.

He is at Kosairs Children's Hospital in Louisville which is an hour away from us. Unfortunately , we are not able to stay down in Louisville and must commute to and from there daily in order to be able to spend time with him. We have two sons ages 5 & 8 that still require (and deserve) our time and attention as well as our 12 & 14 year old daughter.

We have searched out options through the hospital and social media for our community and was given this idea. There are not any financial resources available through the hospital aside from free parking (which of course is a blessing). Anything and and everything will make a difference. I believe in miracles and the fact that God will make a way even when we do not see it possible.

Please share our page and help us continue to see our lil pumpkin grow and be by his side daily so we can bond with him and love on him as much as possible.
