BENEFITING: The Anna Schindler Foundation
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
EVENT: Your Journey Your Cause 2017
Hi, my name is Brad Huffman. I proud father of a son (Kason 2), and daughter (Laina 4), and I am married to the love of my life Joelle. I decided to do my first half Iron Man this year as a personal challenge to step up my physical and mental health. When I learned about an opportunity to help raise some money for one of my favorite charities, The Anna Schindler Foundation I jumped at the chance. This is a local charity that was started by my SVFD fireman brother Joe and his wife Polly after they lost their own daughter, Anna cancer at the age of 7. I have seen the amazing amount of support that this money has given to families of children with childhood cancer. It is directly supporting these families and making their lives just a little less stressful in a time that we cannot even imagine until, god forbid, we are in that position.
I urge you to give to this vital foundation that is doing such great work in our own communites.
Thank you again for supporting me and the Anna Schindler Foundation!

The mission of the Anna Schindler Foundation is to support families battling childhood cancer and raise awareness in the Inland Northwest. We fulfill our mission by aiding these families with meals cards while their child is inpatient at the hospital, offsetting grocery, gas, car repair, lodging, living and medical expenses. We have even helped with the cost of burying a child. If a family has a need we will exhaust our efforts to lighten the load so they can focus on the care of their child. It is also a dream of the Anna Schindler Foundation to build temporary housing, Anna’s Homes, for pediatric oncology families from outlying areas who must stay close to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Several athletes are competing in the IRONMAN CDA 70.3 and 140.6 to raise money for families battling childhood cancer. We are grateful to IRONMAN FOUNDATION for this opportunity to race and fund raise in our community.
