I'm running the Rock the Ridge 50 miler this year because:
1.) I love running.
2.) I love the Mohonk Preserve.
3.) I'm too old and slow for short distance races.
4.) I enjoy being miserable in beautiful places.
Now in its 5th year, Rock The Ridge continues its tradition of achievement, community, and a dedication to preserving the natural environment for future generations to enjoy. Conceived in the spirit of President John F. Kennedy's call to Americans to get fit, Rock The Ridge renews this challenge from the early 1960s and places it right in the heart of the magnificent Shawangunk Ridge, land which The Nature Conservancy has described as “one of Earth's last great places.
Set in the 8,000-acre Mohonk Preserve, the course winds along beautiful carriage trails, through the forests and across the magnificent ridgelines of the Preserve lands.
