Agnus is 16 years and is from Kiambu, just north of Nairobi. When she was young her father, who was suffering from mental illness, abandoned the family, leaving her with no money for school fees. She was lucky enough to have some neighbors pool together money for fees, but even that fell short.
Despite these challenges, Agnus is headstrong and optimistic towards her future. After losing her sister to heart disease - Agnus decided that one day she wanted to become a doctor and give the help to people her sister was not fortuante enough to receive. In her words, “I think I am unique because I am hardworking, self-driven, and capable of excelling... I’d like to help the less fortunate in the society.”
Agnus enjoys reading novels, as well as swimming. She is a very social person, and believes, “you should socialize with everyone, no matter the tribe, no matter the color.” She is extremely motivated, and open to the possibilities that await her.
