BENEFITING: National Blood Clot Alliance
EVENT DATE: Jun 11, 2016
Michael Scott was an athletic 43 year old who should have had many more years ahead of him. His condition went undiagnosed for months even though he went from doctor to doctor to try to figure out the cause of his discomfort. Tragically, in September 2013, his misdiagnosed ailment, blood clots, killed him.
Many of Michael's friends and family will be walking on June 11 to raise money and awareness about this important health issue that is too often misdiagnosed even by the experts. By understanding the symptoms we may be able to help a friend, loved one or our own self, should the need arise.
Michael was a gentleman who was loved and admired by many. A adventurous sort with a twinkle of mischief in his eye, he took advantage of all New York city had to offer but always found time to be a good friend, volunteer and mentor. It is the very least I can do to honor him and the rest of his loving family by raising funds and participating in this "Walk to Stop the Clot." This year the walk is dedicated to Michael.
Give what you can and please take a minute to educate yourselves about the signs and symptoms.
