Colombia Caravan for Peace, Life, and Justice

From November 11-22 the Caravan for Peace, Life, and Justice will travel through Colombia, visiting some of the areas most impacted by the more than 50 years of war, to build alliances for grassroots power and amplify the urgent need to end the US backed war on drugs.
In late September the Colombian Government and the FARC reached a peace agreement after over 50 years of war. On October 3 people in Colombia voted NO to the peace agreement, meaning that they will not be ratified. As Mario Murillo states, there was a lot of emphasis on the peace agreeement, which was good, but there is so much work to do regardless, to build true lasting peace in the country
In March-April of this year I participated in another Caravan for Peace, Life, and Justice through Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and the United States. We witnessed the devestation of the US-backed war on drugs as well as the growing resistance to this form of colonialism that is tearing apart communities and destroying the earth.
