Just about everyone I know knows someone affected by breast cancer. My connection to breast cancer was through my late friend Jen Varner who taught me so much about being a woman, being strong and living each day like it could be the last. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer while pregnant with her 4th child and chose to keep her baby and postpone treatment. She received treatment after having her son and battled a few more years. She and her family moved to Hawaii, became closer and lived rich and full lives. Her fight with Cancer was lost last Feb. but she is a hero in my heart. I'm so blessed to have known her and although she hated pink, I think she would love all the strong women that come together to raise money to beat this terrible disease.
