Getting Started . . .
April 06, 2016
My name is Gabriela. I am 6 yrs old and in 1st grade.
When I was 3 years old, my mom was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer. I saw her go thru many rounds of chemotherapy and multiple surgeries. I always wanted to help make her feel better; so my grandma (who is great at drawing) encouraged me to draw and color for my mom. I would make her pictures, cards and write her notes almost every day and leave them on her night stand. I know they made her feel better and helped her heal.
I still love to color and draw. So when my mom told me about the Colors of Hope coloring book and that it would help children with cancer feel better, I immediately started drawing. I was so excited to see my artwork in the book, along with artwork by my grandma.
I did this because I want kids with cancer to feel better. It's a little piece of art made with a lot of love . . . I pray it brings HOPE and healing to children everywhere.
If you want to learn more about the Colors of Hope coloring book and the non-profit behind it (Along Comes Hope), please keep reading. My mom's friend, Jenny, is the Founder/CEO. She, too, had cancer; and now she is giving back by raising funds to help children with cancer.
I HOPE you will help me share this precious Colors of Hope coloring book by donating . . . every $1 counts. Please help me not only reach, but exceed, my $2,500 goal. As my mom said every day of her cancer journey . . . WE GOT THIS!!
Love, Hope and Blessings,
ALONG COMES HOPE . . .
Along Comes Hope® is dedicated to both the physical and emotional support of every patient fighting cancer (assisting ages birth-23). We are launching a fundraiser to produce the “Colors of Hope”. This 80-page Coloring Book Journal is designed to be a creative outlet through the use of art, poetry, imagination and color for children of all ages that are fighting cancer.
It’s a compilation of 27 artists who joined this heart-work project to share hope and inspiration to the many cancer warriors that are hospitalized, bedridden and sick in their journey to heal. This uniquely designed coloring book sparks creativity, thought, and free-style drawing with the several pages of poetry & journaling space available. Once the "Colors of Hope" are completed it is a wonderful keepsake for years to come, remindiing the recipient of how they faced the difficulties of cancers obstacles and found hope, love, and light in the midst of these times.
