BENEFITING: HOPE IN HEELS
Hope in Heels, a 501c(3) non profit is raising money to purchase supplies for their Pooky Pouch project.
What is it? – The project supplies comfort items to a child who enters the foster care system or to transitional care in an emergency situation.
What is a Pooky Pouch? – A Pooky Pouch is a soft, portable cloth tote which will also stay with the child.
Why the need? – Children entering the foster system in an emergency situation often must leave a dangerous home environment quickly and without possessions. Most children are often removed from their homes due to a parent overdosing on drugs (often heroin).
What items are included? (below are some examples of items stored in the Pooky Pouch) Book or journal (whichever is age appropriate) Small soft plush toy (also as age appropriate) Toothbrush and toothpaste Other miscellaneous hygiene items (deodorants, body washes, shampoos and conditioners) Blanket or soft throw
All funds raised will go directly to purchasing these much needed supplies in order to provide some comfort for young children undergoing a very traumatic experience.
