Kelsea Southworth's Fundraiser:

Comfort through Crisis

As 2011 came to an end I relected not only on how my year went but on what significant events occured that year. I realized that many people around the world have been struck by various natural disasters. Countries like Japan, the Philipines, Haiti, and cities in the U.S had been greatly effected and their people were left with very little.

I listed possibilities of ways I could help, most ideas seemed far fetched for a poor college student to achieve. Then I realized that making blankets and hats would be a great way to give to the people in need. Though it is a small thing I know that when I lay down at night and have a big warm blanket around me there is a certain comfort and security that comes with that. I want to try and give back just a little warmth and comfort by making and sending these blankets.

My goal is complete 365 blankets by the end of 2012 and have them sent to the countries most effected by natural disasters in 2011. The money I raise will be used to buy: cloth, sewing material (such as scissors, pins, needles, thread, etc), a sewing machine, and shipping cost.

It would mean so much tome to fulfil my goal and help these people. Please help me do this by donating. If you woukd also like to get involved by making blankets that would be incredible. Thank you
