Take the pledge to #Commit2SLA.
Stand with us to inspire a movement of resistance and social justice.
Since 1992 CHC has been taking a stand, alongside residents of South LA, against overt racism and institutional discrimination—fighting for social justice and equity in South Los Angeles. And now, we are preparing for one of the hardest fights in a generation.
A new White House administration is being formed that threatens to destroy more than two decades of social progress. Moves have already been made to normalize discriminatory policies, promoting blatant racism. Make no mistake; without swift and sustained action from people who believe in fairness, unity and democracy, places like South LA will spend another 25 years fighting for the basics, like access to healthy food, quality healthcare, and livable neighborhoods.
As a supporter of CHC and South LA, we know that you share our values.
We need you take a stand with us. We need you take the pledge to #Commit2SLA., which means you believe:
South LA residents are leaders and have powerful voices that can shape the future of our communities
South LA is a place of rich culture, family, resilience, and a legacy worth nurturing for generations to learn about, and appreciate
South LA deserves its share of opportunity and investments, such as living wage jobs, parks, affordable and safe places to live, and quality education
Together we can bridge the gap of inequity
A donation to our #Commit2SLA campaign will help us:
Enroll some of the 23% of South LA low-income families that are uninsured into health insurance
Re-engage eligible voters to be civically connected to the local political process
Create healthcare workforce pipelines for the 28% of unemployed youth of color
Take a step towards removing South LA form the list of food deserts in the US by making fresh produce more accessible
Build capacity of South LA community organizations so they can focus on achieving impact
#Commit2SLA today and you will inspire a movement.
