Running in the rain!
September 27, 2016
BENEFITING: Communities Overcoming Violent Encounters Inc
EVENT: Grand Rapids Marathon 2016
EVENT DATE: Oct 23, 2016
As a recent cancer survivor I set a goal for myself that I would never let cancer beat me AGAIN! As a part of reaching this lifelong challenge to myself I decided to survive cancer in 2015 and physically challenge myself unlike ever before in 2016. So here I am registered to run my first FULL marathon. I have run the Grand Rapids half marathon a handful of times before but THIS IS MY YEAR! I won't be fast but I WILL FINISH! But why run if not for a cause....? I am choosing to run for COVE because I believe in what they do for so many people in their almost 40 years of existence. They are an incredibly worthy organization and in order to continue providing services to all of the people who need them they need continuous support from EVERYONE! Also, selfishly I would like the encouragement of running for $'s for COVE to make me wake up on October 23rd and actually do this! Please help me meet and then EXCEED my goal of raising money for COVE! To find out more about COVE please visit http://callcove.com/about us.asp or like the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/callcove/ COVE empowers and changes lives in Mason, Lake and Oceana Counties. Make a difference today for the children of tomorrow. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, there will be peace. The mission of COVE is to provide protection and advocacy to victims of Domestic / Sexual Violence and or Homelessness, and to educate the community about the root causes of violence.
