BENEFITING: ASSOCIATION FOR COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY PSYCHOLOGY
Between wars and natural disasters around the globe, the need for wide-scale, cost-efficient, community empowered trauma relief has never been greater. In an answer to this call we are raising funds for three initiatives that will not only help heal PTSD in affected communities, but will teach community members how to heal each other.
Funds raised will benefit:
- The Veteran-to-Veteran Healing Project — Providing training in peer-facilitated energy psychology (EP) practices (aka 'tapping') to help our young men and women soldiers more rapidly heal from the trauma of war.
- Syria Bright Future — Providing EP training to clinicians in Turkey, Jordan & Syria who are working with refugees of the Syrian crisis.
- Project Light: Rwanda — Providing support to this visionary program supporting orphaned genocide survivors to heal, work and lead their country into a peaceful future.
In this peer-facilitated trauma relief model, practitioners teach community members meridian-based tapping methods such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Trauma Tapping Technique (TTT). Each of these tapping approaches helps to swiftly and gently release stress and trauma from the body and mind by mediating the brain’s fear response to traumatic memories and environmental cues.
Because they are child-friendly and simple to learn, these healing techniques can easily be shared within a community and have proven effective in a variety of settings and cultures, including the United States, Kosovo, Haiti, Japan and Rwanda. In this model, the receiver becomes the giver, creating a virtuous cycle of healing around the globe.
