Stuff About Me:

Hip Hop-Rap Legend "Antoine X. Roundtree;" (better known as Skee-Lo), was born Chicago IL; March 27, 1975. He relocated to New York in 1983; where he found himself immersed in hip-hop culture. In 1985; he relocated to Los Angeles CA; where he began producing his own music and currently resides. SKEE-LO began his music career opening shows for artist like "C+C Music Factory," "Vanilla Ice," "Melow Man Ace," "Kid Frost" & more. In 1994; he became an official "MC;" at a famous rap lounge called the "Goodlife;" which debuted some of the greatest underground MC's on the west coast; artists like "Souls Of Mischief," "Ahmad," "Kurrupt," "XZibit," "The Alchaholics" & more.

Skee-Lo's first hit record was titled "I Wish." The "I Wish" single with a video that parodied Forrest Gump, became a huge hit on radio and TV during the summer of 1995 and, his identically titled, (self-produced) debut album was released shortly thereafter; earning him two (2) Grammy nominations for "Best Rap Solo" & Best Rap Album. He's shared the stage with artist like "2Pac," "Notrious BIG," "Bone Thugs," "Stevie Wonder," 'James Brown," "MC Hammer" & more. Later single releases would include; “Top of The Stairs” from the "(Money Train" movie), "Come Back To Me” (from the "Big Bully" movie), “Mr. Morton” (from the School House Rock album) and, “I’ll be Your Everything,” which he co-wrote with the Boy-Band-Group “Youngs Town,” (for the “Inspector Gadget" movie). All of which were "multi-platinum" releases.

In 1996 - 1997, Skee-Lo became a V.J. for both MTV's "The Beach House" & MTV's "The Grind;" thereafter making appearances as (lead actor) on television shows like Dangerous Minds, Goode Behavior & Bay Watch Nights.

SKEE-LO disapeared from the music scene in 1998-2009; allegedly to start his own record label SKEELO MUSIK. In August 2012, Skee-Lo’s new independent record label "SKEELO MUSIK," inked an exclusive distribution agreement with MRI and Red Music, a division of SONY MUSIC, via Whatevaok Entertainment.

On November 13, 2012; SKEE-LO released a new album entitled "FRESH IDEAS." His 1st single of 2013 aptly titled “Vibe is Right,” marks a trifecta return for Skee-Lo. Renewed interest in Skee-Lo and “I Wish,” has been sparked by inclusion in 3 of Toyota’s Rav 4 national commercials featuring ‘Big Bang Theory’ star Kaley Cuoco. The first commercial, which debuted during the 2013 Super Bowl Game, has received over 19 million views and; is the top 16 most viewed commercial in the history of YouTube.
