22 actively breeding outdoor cats, ready to be fixed with your help.
This April, PetSmart Charities generously donated funding for 80 stray and outdoor cats to be fixed, ear-tipped and rabies vaccinated at C-SNIP. The program allowed us to explore ways to increase our TNR (trap-neuter-return) capacity. Most importantly, it has improved outcomes for 80 cats so far, thanks to the help of the 9 experienced trappers working on colonies in the area.
But while the funding is gone, the colonies aren't quite finished. Our trappers report that 22 cats across these 9 colonies, the most determined trap-savvy breeders, are still out there. Of those 20, 11 are in traps ready to be fixed tomorrow, if funding were available. 3 still at large are habitual litter deserters (cats who are known to deliver, hide and abandon their kittens to terrible fates, only to repeat the cycle 2-3 months later).
For only $40 per cat, C-SNIP can sterilize and vaccinate these fiercely beautiful and independent creatures. It's a one-time intervention that can make all the difference for the cats, the colony caretakers, and the health of the communities in which they live. Bringing it home will only take 22 people will to sponsor one cat each. Please consider helping us finish our April Feral Cat outreach strong.
