BENEFITING: Saha Global
Community Water Solutions (CWS) is a not-for-profit organization that aims to bring sustainable water treatment to rural communities in Ghana. We are specifically involved in the Community Water Solutions fellowship program. As fellows, we will travel to and stay in Ghana for approximately 3-weeks, beginning in late May. During our stay, we will learn more about the global water crisis and basic water treatment techniques. The main purpose of this fellowship experience, however, is to partner with a single rural community to build a water treatment center that will provide safe drinking water. Through implementation of this water treatment center, we will also train individuals from the specific community to run the treatment center. This will allow the trained individuals to make a small profit while also ensuring that the water treatment business will be a long-lasting part of the community.
Community Water Solutions is a very special organization because of its empowering drinking water treatment model that is unlike that of any other organization. Other water treatment options are often expensive and difficult to maintain. Community Water Solutions has already provided maintainable clean water businesses to five villages in Ghana, which has provided clean drinking water to over 11,000 people.
With your donations, we will be able to provide even more people with safe drinking water. Currently, nearly a million people in the region of Ghana specific to this fellowship are exposed to harmful diseases every time they take just a sip of water.
